Let’s Go Play! (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Nataliya Bagatskaya
39.37 x 29.53 x 0.71" (unframed)
$2,500
Original artwork description
An ordinary afternoon becomes a small study in human distraction and feline persistence. A young woman sits curled into a cream armchair, headphones resting at her neck, lost in thought. At her feet, a black cat raises a paw towards her leg, quietly demanding attention. Someone wants to connect; someone else seems not quite ready.
The interior is rich in character: a sculptural fireplace, pots arranged along the mantel, dark wooden detailing and a terracotta planter. A large green plant spreads across the pale wall, while the red-and-ivory patterned rug adds a bold geometric accent. Soft creams and whites balance the deep teal of the woman's trousers and the cat's expressive black silhouette.
Beyond the gentle humour of domestic life, the painting explores the boundaries of personal attention: the private space of thought, the interruptions that draw us out of it, and the comfort of another presence insisting on being acknowledged. The woman's averted gaze and the cat's upward look leave the exchange unresolved, capturing a familiar moment of affection, solitude and companionship without sentimentality.
Dutch acrylic paints by Amsterdam and Italian canvas by Unico were used. The artwork is finished with satin varnish, signed and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
