Black Door 34 (2026) Original Oil Painting by Garry Arzumanyan

Black Door" invites the viewer into a liminal space where the ocean becomes both a metaphor and a threshold.

The solitary figure traversing the waves embodies the deconstruction of perceived limits — dismantling internal and external barriers, social constructs, and archetypal constraints.
Rooted in contemporary discourse on posthuman agency and the sociology of the self, this work questions the fixity of ‘possible’ and ‘impossible.’ It proposes an existential permeability, where human potential expands beyond the solid and the liquid, the visible and the invisible.

In a world increasingly defined by boundaries — national, psychological, ideological — this painting asserts the radical proposition that one may walk where one was told to sink.
