Original artwork description
A quiet continuity between who we once were and who we have become. Two versions of the same woman occupy a single space: one vivid and present, the other monochromatic, lingering behind like a trace of an earlier self.
Rather than depicting a simple division, the painting suggests that past versions of ourselves never disappear entirely. Innocence, experience and awareness coexist, shaping the person who remains in the present.
The contrast between warm colour and muted greys, combined with layered textures and ornamental fragments, creates a tension between memory and presence.
Materials used:
canvas, oils, mdf board, texture paste
Details:
- Oil painting on Canvas
- One of a kind artwork
- Size: 60 x 70cm (unframed)
- Signed on the back
- Style: Expressive and gestural
- Subject: Still life
