After the Lesson (2004) Original Oil Painting by Takashi Yasuoka

27 x 33 x 0.1cm (unframed) / 20 x 25cm (actual image size)

$229.99

Only a glimpse of a young daughter can be seen beyond the grand piano.

Like a note lingering after the music has ended, her small presence hovers between memory and silence. The piano stands still, while time moves gently onward.
What remains is not the lesson itself, but the faint glow of a childhood afternoon preserved somewhere beyond words.

Oil on gesso-primed cardboard. The stated size is sheet size, the art size is 25x20cm.
The artwork is presented with an off-white mat, as shown in the image, and displays beautifully when framed

This is my early work. This piece took over three months to complete, involving multiple layers of translucent oil paint. While capturing delicate color nuances was difficult with analog film in the 2000s, recent digital photography technology has made more accurate representation possible. Nevertheless, the actual colors are surprisingly subtle and change slightly depending on the lighting conditions.
