After Darkness (2025) Original Mixed-media Painting by Viktoria Dragon

After Darkness

Darkness Series · 2025

Darkness is not always an ending. Sometimes, it is where transformation begins.

In After Darkness, I explore the fragile moment between shadow and light — when something hidden begins to awaken.

Deep earthy browns and greens intertwine with unexpected flashes of turquoise and crimson. Organic forms emerge from the layered surface, recalling roots, leaves and the quiet movement of life beneath the earth.

For me, this painting is about the strength that remains within us, even during difficult times. About the possibility of renewal, when everything seems still and the way forward is not yet clear.

Nature reminds us that life continues beneath the surface, even when we cannot see it.

After Darkness is a reflection on resilience, inner transformation and the quiet hope that follows even the longest night.
