Original artwork description
“What Binds Us”
Two figures emerge from a barren landscape, their faces caught in a silent cry. Beneath fractured skin, intricate mechanical structures extend into branches that intertwine above them, making their connection visible.
The painting explores the bonds formed through memory, attachment, shared experience, and pain. These ties can sustain us, but they can also constrain us, keeping us connected even when understanding breaks down. Small human figures sit among the branches like quiet witnesses to the turmoil below.
The two faces may represent separate people or opposing voices within a single consciousness. What binds them remains open to interpretation: love, conflict, dependence, or a shared past that neither can escape.
