Everyone's December (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Grâce Pégéron

30 x 30 x 1.8cm (unframed)

€414

A tree reduced to three lines, because that's all it needed to be recognised - the eye fills in the rest the moment it sees the shape, the way it always does with things we know by heart. The gold stroke is the only ornament on it, and it's not finished decorating. Someone started early, couldn't wait, then had to stop — the rest of the tree still bare, waiting for everyone else to arrive before the lights go on properly.

That's the whole painting, really. Not Christmas itself, but the moment just before it - the sky gone flat and foggy, snow already down and more of it coming, the cold that means spices are about to happen in someone's kitchen. Joy that hasn't started yet but is completely certain to.

It's special because the spirit is already fully there, in three lines and one gold mark - before a single other decoration goes up, before the smells even start, the whole feeling of December has already arrived. That's what the minimal gets you: not less feeling, just nothing standing between you and it.
