    This week I have been working on a series of abstract paintings using the traditional colours associated with Christmas... green, red, gold and purple. I was thinking that I would have these for home to bring out at Christmas time each year. I do not think that this is a widely adopted practice and wondered if anyone else might be interested?

    I am very fortunate to be able to spend time on the fabulous Isle of Wight at Freshwater Bay, my favourite spot in the unspoilt West Wight. The golden sunsets over the bay this year seem to have been particularly spectacular.

    I have been getting into an Autumn mood this past week in readiness for my up coming solo exhibition at the Dart Centre in Hedge End, Eastleigh, Hampshire which runs from 2nd October through to 26th October. The exhibition is titled 'Breath of Autumn' and will feature around 30 of my Autumn inspired paintings.

    Micheldever Morning Series of Paintings

    I have been working recently on a series of paintings inspired by the fabulous Micheldever Beech Woods near Winchester in Hampshire during the springtime. Here each year users are reliably treated to the display of a carpet of bluebells with a flush of fresh, bright green new beech leaves. The theme was the subject of a recent workshop that I ran as part of Hampshire Open Studios. I am very pleased that two small paintings form the series have already sold.
