About Filothei Croonen

Creativity is what keeps me going - it is my oxygen, my passion, my way of life and even my therapy.

From my earliest childhood memories, I remember my hands have always been full of colors and paint. The answer to the question: "What do you want to be when you grow up?", has always been: "A painter".

I was born in Greece where I studied Graphic Design. Sadly my parents didn't believe that becoming a painter is a real job and Graphic Design was the closest to my biggest passion in life, painting. I worked for almost ten years as an Art Director in big advertising companies with many big international names in my portfolio. 

In 2005 I moved to Amsterdam where I since live with my partner and our cat Sushi. These eleven years have been full of surprises and adventures. A journey that has been wonderful and also hard at times but this has revealed so many beautiful things in m y life. I took the decision to listen to my heart and respect my passion and to finally follow the path I have always been dreaming of: to be a full time artist. I have never been happier since.

My art has many different sides and styles. It simply represents the way I felt at that specific moment of creation. It always reflects my emotions, what moved me, what made me happy or took my sadness away. My soul is there, visible. 

The only thing I want is to create and share these feelings - not only for myself but to share them with everybody. I hope you enjoy what you see as much as I have enjoyed creating them.
