Bruno Mertens has a graphical background. He uses his knowledge of the drypoint technique to develop his actual paintings : several sharped nails are used to scratch the surface of a wooden carrier covered with an acrylic coating. Than, into these scractches, colour pigments are rubbed to become an intriguing move. A never ending story of lines and forms. A reflexion of the mind, a moment of Zen.
