I very much enjoy spending days in the woodlands and lakes near my home, in search of subjects for paintings to portray the beauty in our natural world. This painting is from a photograph I took of two young great egrets at Owsley Fork Lake in Madison County, Kentucky. The snowy plumage of these birds and their graceful movements are a joy to see, and I hope this painting brings some of that pleasure to the viewer.
