Original artwork description:
I cut these roses from my garden and my whole studio was filled with the most gorgeous smell. This is quite a small painting painted in two days whilst the roses stayed fresh. I have used fairly thick brushwork for the petals and foliage. I wanted to capture the beautiful buttery yellow of the roses. It is framed in a dark grey frame to extend the depth of the background.
