A handprinted and handpainted etching of a beautiful wren.
Wrens might be brown and often inconspicuous but they have beautiful, often complex songs. They also feature prominently in culture and have been considered as 'the King of birds' in Europe. They were also featured on the British farthing until 1960.
In many cultures, wrens are seen to bring good luck. This print might do the same for you!
I etched this design from my sketches (after seeing one in my garden) on zinc plate using copper sulphate. It was etched in ice blue, and printed using oil based Inks on smooth velvety Somerset satin paper. I then handpainted it to highlight the foliage and birds with watercolours.
This is one of its kind print with image size 15 X 15 cm and a generous margin for framing. It will fit into a standard off the shelf frame available in John Lewis or IKEA.
I will package this in acid free tissue paper with mount board for support, and will send it first class signed for delivery within the UK, and tracked for international deliveries. If your country is not listed in the shipping table please contact me and I will give you a quote.
