Original artwork description:

Monkey business!! In the 18th and 19th century it was very fashionable to own a monkey . In France monkeys were depicted on murals in chateaux . They were depicted as workers in the fields, servants, dukes and duchesses. I have used them to depict the human race. A bit mean on the monkeys I know! This may appear a very light hearted painting of monkeys and a cheetah but look carefully! They are playing with the balance of the world, stoking fires, playing with knives. The cheetah is close to extinction and a lot of it is down to us, not th naughty monkeys. Maybe Ive been a bit unfair on them. Painted on deep edge canvas using acrylics powder pigment and 23 carat gold

Materials used:

Gesso, acrylic paint, powder pigment, 23 carat gold leaf
