Artist's description:

Among a number of preoccupations as an artist I wish to find ways of celebrating the past and bringing that past in a relevant manner into the present.

Sinuhe lived some 4000 years ago and the manuscript of his work is among few surviving from Ancient Egypt. He writes of being in exile and, while he finds hospitality in the lands in which he finds himself, he misses his home, friends and family. The immediacy of the writing has Sinuhe's work seem to be contemporary and, despite the distance in time, he could be telling his story in our living room.
