#1 from my series of glass apples paintings. I borrowed the apple collection from a friend at R Blooms florist shop in Lake Oswego, Oregon, whose husband received them as gifts each year during his employment with Apple Computer Company. I chose 12 apples from the collection to paint individually and in groups of three. I set the apples up against a white satin tablecloth and painted them from life. I wanted to create a dynamic composition and portray the beauty of the light, colors and reflections.
This apple is made of wood. I enjoyed painting the luscious reds, and warm and cool light reflections.
