Artist's description:

A stitched drawing with fabric applique of a woman at the sewing machine. This is a small A4 size piece stretched on a canvas ready to hang. This is piece is one of an ongoing series of drawings made on the sewing machine which depict people sewing.
The aim is to highlight the act of sewing as work. Sewing is still seen as a "womens" thing and as such is not regarded so highly as painting or sculpture in the art world. Women are underrepresented in the higher echelons of the art world and especially the ones who sew!

Materials used:

white cotton fabric, coloured threads, printed fabric.
