Original artwork description:

Living in the Welsh Marches, with all of North Wales at my doorstep, with it's mountains, rivers, lakes and amazing coast, I wonder that I haven't turned to this countryside earlier to draw and paint. But here it is at last - this is my eighth finished landscape. It's shows part of the hills, covered in dead bracken, not cold, early in the morning as the sun arrives. Y distawrwydd cyn gwanwyn.

As glass has been my material of choice for many years, this painting shows how I'd love to recreate this picture as a cast glass mural: here it is as a painting of a mosaic of crushed glass. I love the response of glass to light: its sharpness and smoothness delights me. This mixed-media work (it includes drawn, photographed, digitised and painted elements) exploits these characteristics: it seems fractured and broken, yet alive with colour and life.

This original work is painted on canvas, stretched on a frame, prepared and ready to hang. It's signed and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Materials used:

Acrylic paints and inks
