Artist's description:

Snow rarely covers the New Forest for any length of time so when it arrives the villagers turn out in numbers to take part or witness local winter sports. One of the favourite spots where there is sufficient hillside for sledging is Longslade bottom. Here we see children sledging and skiing down the slope with a host of older onlookers.
