Bare, twisting branches curling across the canvas, a hint of fresh, spring growth, a muted palette with a wintery feel but with pockets of unexpected, vibrant colour. All these components make this original acrylic ink on canvas exciting yet serene, detailed but impressionistic.
This original, unique piece is calm, full of depth, movement and texture. I have used acrylic inks on stretched canvas to give me a freedom of expression and to take advantage of their transparency and vibrancy. I have dripped, flicked, rubbed, poured and scraped the ink on the canvas. This painting is full of intricate details of texture, I have used a knife to scrape away the top layers of ink to reveal bare, twisting branches curling across the canvas. I have tried to emulate a play of light within the depth of the woodland and used a mixture of greens, blues and purples to keep the tone throughout.
The inks I use are pigment inks making them permanent and waterproof with excellent lightfastness. They are stable on the canvas and do not need to be framed behind glass.
The canvas is 70cm x 70cm and 4cm in depth and the edges have been painted in a soft green that matches a green in the painting itself. It is ready to hang or be framed as you wish.
I will package it securely in a cardboard box with plenty of internal packaging.
