Artist Biography:
Valery Slauk is a Belarusian graphic artist, book illustrator, and professor at the Belarusian Academy of Arts. His works are exhibited in the National Art Museum of Belarus and in several museums abroad.
7 April 1947 - born in Kohanovo, Tolochin district, Vitebsk region.
2008 - Awarded the diploma of the State award of the Republic of Belarus.
2008 - Laureate of the award “The Best Illustrator of Year”.
2008 - Laureate of the award “Golden Folio” in nomination “The best master” of the National competition “Book Art 2008″.
2009 - Awarded the diploma of the Republican competition “Artist and Book” in nomination “The Best Artist”.
2010 - Owner of the first place diploma of the International competition “Art of Book”.
2010 - Awarded a medal named after F. Skaryna.
2010 - Awarded a medal “For merits in fine arts” of the Belarusian Union of Artists.
2015 - Awarded with the title “Honored worker of arts of the Republic of Belarus”.
2017 - Special award of the President to cultural workers for a significant personal contribution to the development of national school of easel and book graphics.
