Original artwork description:
Winter Hill is massive wedge-shaped hill on the western edge of the Pennine Moors. It features in many of my sketches and paintings but usually in the background, behind the rivers and trees that I usually paint. So in this painting I've moved it centre stage and crowned it with the heavy rain clouds that so often loom dramatically over it.
