Artist's description:

Created to commemorate the 500th anniversary of The Bard of Avon - William Shakespeare. The artist has recreated the famous Chandos Portrait believed to be one of the few actual likenesses of the poet and playwright made during his own lifetime. Using hand-mulled pigments of the period and a technique faithful to the original work this excellent rendition is presented in order to - in the words of Shakespeare himself - "The object of Art is to give life a shape".
