Question for the artist?

Artist's description:

One of a series of paintings on this subject, Wilderlost IV depicts the beautiful overgrown historic quarry that forms part of an ancient long field shown on the OS map as the Wilderness on the edge of Shaftesbury in Dorset. The little quarry provided the green limestone that build Shaftesbury Abbey. Now it is home to badgers, many bird species and the occasional fox. It has been lost to dog walkers and playing children recently as a fence was erected to limit the route of the public footpath to a route march beside the boundary hedge. My reaction to this sad development has been to paint. The work is based on sketches and photographs that I had been taking when I still had access to the top of the quarry.
