Artist's description:

I was inspired to paint this after reading about land grabs through working at Oxfam.
In developing countries, the rush for land is even more intense and in the past decade, more than 81 million acres of land worldwide has been sold off to foreign investors.
Some of these deals happen without the free and informed consent of communities.
It often results in farmers being forced from their homes and families left hungry.

Materials used:

painted on think acrylic painting board, and painted with acrylics

Who owns the land? (2015)
