Original artwork description:

"White Marsh" is a good example of expressionism. The final piece looks quick and easy to create. However, there is much planning and knowledge that goes on before the canvas is touched. Heavy color is mixed then applied as if squirting color straight from the tube. Oil color is applied liberally with the intention of a one time pass of a loaded squeegee. Loaded with white and pulled across the canvas, the squeegee picks up color as it travels. Varying the speed and pressure of the squeegee, the image of an expressionistic, backwater marsh scene emerges. With light pressure, the squeegee skips across the surface of the lower half to give the shimmer and reflection to the body of water closest to the viewer.

Oil on gallery wrapped stretched canvas. Edge are painted and my be hung straight out of the box or framed.

Materials used:

canvas
