Part of my "Knuckle Bomb" series of paintings. This painting was made in during the winter of 2015 in my studio in Boston, MA.
This painting is painted on a pre-stretched 1 1/2" profile canvas with clean edges. The surface of the canvas is primed with titanium white paint for an exceptionally bright, crisp ground. The underpainting is done in thin acrylic paints and watercolor, achieving a staining effect. Paints are thickly applied and clear acrylic medium is used liberally to create raised surfaces and areas of translucency. The bright fluorescent pink, yellow, and orange in this painting really pop and the picture does not quite do them justice.
