Artist's description:

This painting was born during my Winter trip to Venice and when I read essay "Watermark" by Joseph Brodsky. His Venice with cold windy wet weather in Winter, with the smell of cold sea water and freezing algae in the lagoon, reflected in this essay, were so familiar to me.
I love Venice in Winter. With fogs, wet winds and snow. There is no other season, when you can be in this city and really feel and enjoy it, when you can live there as the locals without crowds of tourists coming in warmer months and when you can just wonder around the streets and bridges and hear no other sounds but the sounds of your steps on the stone pavement and the splashes of water.

*This painting no needs to be framed. It is made on gallery canvas, 4 sm depths - side boards are colored with silver acrylic to compliment the idea and feeling of the painting.

Materials used:

oil
