Question for the artist?

Artist's description:

This painting is from my 2014 'Secrets & Skies' series. These paintings were about the way in which open spaces bear silent witness to our thoughts, emotions and secrets. All my paintings are a reflection of that inner dialogue with the Landscape.

This particular painting is a loose view of the beach near my studio in Pembrokeshire on the west coast of Wales,UK (but that isn't really the point!) It could be almost anywhere, because it's really about the feeling not the place.
Being out on a windswept beach can blow away the 'cobwebs' in your mind; the quality of light, the smell of salt air, the sound of the waves and the energy in bursts of spray... all serve to enliven the senses and make you feel alive!

The painting has been built up in many layers and combines a variety of techniques; staining and glazing in thin layers, gradually building up thickness and texture. Paint has been applied with brushes, knives, rags and sometimes fingers! It is painted, scraped, flicked, spattered and poured on, and sometimes off again, until the finished painting presented itself.
