Artist's description:

This piece combines abstract and figurative elements and images to address women's rights. It was also intended to relay the universal emotion of feeling powerless. Just by asking the title question, I imagine the woman depicted is on the verge of searching for, and going after whatever power she does have, or that she can find within and around her. In this respect, the image is hopeful rather than hopeless. I hope it inspires someone out there! I think this piece would be beautiful framed. This piece comes with a signed copy of one of my four novels.

I'm an American figurative expressionist painter. I spent the first half of my adult life writing fiction, and then began painting in 2008. I'm the author of five books, including four novels. My art often includes a strong sense of character and story. My primary subject is the complexity of women.

My work is influenced by fashion photography and a childhood spent immersed in the high-end interior design industry. My mother was a successful designer whose work was featured in publications such as Architectural Digest and Southern Living.

To better understand some of the underlying themes and emotional content that influence my art, read my (almost) memoir, Please Love Me, as well as my other books. It can be found on Amazon, along with my other titles.
