‘When Grass Sleeps’ is a mixed media artwork on a 90cm x 90cm canvas. The piece is inspired by recollections of a time and place, and remembered narratives of childhood friendships. The development of the piece is driven by a re-established connection with an old friend.
The working process involves arrangement through the combination of collage, painting and assemblage, and investigates qualities of surface and the juxtaposition of found photographs and simple objects.
