Artist's description:

From my Abbeydale residency, a close up of the hub and spokes of the main water wheel. This wheel powers the tilt hammers, and is a huge and impressive beast when it is running. I painted it in monochrome with raw umber as the dominant colour to reference the age of the wheel, hinting at the early days of photography, but sticking to my usual expressive/impressionistic approach. The work is professionally framed and mounted, plexiglass framed and ready to hang.

Materials used:

Heavy paper, acrylic paint, mounted and wood framed with a plexiglass glaze
