"What's In the Trunk" is one from my series "Environmental Habits". An expressively painted portrait of an elephant fills the foreground and contrasts with the layered orange background. A bright yellowish rectangle is applied in the top left corner creating texture and representing the chaotic struggle to secure one's habitat. The title adds to the question of what it means to have a habitat and the relationship between animal and man; who is forcing who out of their environment? As man tries to force nature into a compact box, nature pushes man back into his own box. Framed, signed and ready to hang.
