"What Lies Beneath" came about when I started experimenting within my printmaking with photocopy toner and its use with photopolymer intaglio plates. I mixed the very dense photocopy toner with acrylic fluid mediums and painted onto perspex sheets. As the mixture dried, it create the most amazing textures and patterns. I later cropped the results into interesting shapes and created photopolymer intaglio plates. I know! All very technical!
However, it was fun to create! The image looks like a cross-section of the sky and earth.
This image was then inked up in three colours - Paynes Grey, Raw Umber and Yellow Ochre, and printed onto dampened Fabriano paper.
This print is also available for sale as one of a MATCHING PAIR of prints, with "Hillside Abode" at a REDUCED PRICE. See separate listing.
