Artist's description:

I'm not going to lie to you guys, I've no idea how the shot came to be!

I was out for the culture night festival in Belfast and I was watching this great live band, the atmosphere was brilliant and there were lovely lights hanging down. So i though i would get a few nice long exposures to put up for a magazine i was working for. My camera somehow froze up and i was moving it up and down, trying to see what had gone wrong in the dark. Then maybe a minute later this photo popped up on the screen and I fell in love with it. I love how, what i assume the yellow light in was initially trying to capture transform into this swirling ribbon!

A happy happy accident and a piece of art that I cant recreate, it was totally spontaneous and random and i think that reflects the best things in life sometimes. You didnt plan them, you didnt know what was happening at the time and they turn out to be the great!

what happened here? (2014)
