Artist's description:

On the last day of my stay as artist-in-residence at Weir Farm National Historic Site I had packed up, cleaned the residence and studio and then, with a couple of hours to spare, sat down in the field where new trees had been planted and made one final oil sketch before driving home to Long Island. What a wonderfully bittersweet experience to enjoy and say goodbye all at one to this terrific place maintained by the NPS in memory of the artist who brought Impressionism to America and launched three generations of artists painting, drawing and sculpting on this property.

Materials used:

traditional artist's oil paint on linen board
