Question for the artist?

Artist's description:

This is my first lion.
I've used my usual technique of applying a lot of water mixed with the paint so the colour blend into each other directly on the paper, leaving the excess water drip down the lion's face.
He is weeping while looking directly at the viewer.
This piece is a statement on the current treatment and poaching of certain species. I also wanted to recreate the beauty of this lion with it's colours, the flowing lines of the face and the melancholy look.

Materials used:

Pencil, acrylic, water
