Artist's description:

Weddin Mountains National Park, near Grenfell NSW, covers a sedimentary range of hills rising sharply from the surrounding plains. The slopes of this range have stands of Ironbark trees (Eucalyptus sideroxylon) among large sandstone and conglomerate boulders. It is the contrast in textures, patterns and colours between the rocks and the trees that have inspired these 2 paintings.
