A painting inspired by seeing one of Monet's pictures of waterlilies in Paris earlier this year. In this picture I am trying to capture the strange sense of duality one gets in contemplating a pond or lake. The eye is taken in by the surface reflections and ripples whilst there is also a perception of the hidden depth of the water. The painting is framed in an upcycled frame and comes with it's own certificate of authenticity.
Acrylic paints on canvas textured paper.
