I love the outdoors and waterfalls in particular. But it is always difficult to reduce a beautiful landscape into shapes, colors, a few markings. But that is the goal. A timpanist will beat the head of the drum approximately 4 inches from the edge, knowing this will make the best sound. My job as an artist is to find the point, the one that visually and emotionally communicates whether it is in the center or close to the edge. This mixed media painting on deep wood panel is almost 3-dimensional with a smaller 3/4" panel giving it additional depth. Sides are finished, and it is wired ready to hang.
