Another portrait of a delightful bird, the Emu from Australia.
Emu are slightly smaller than their distant cousins Ostrich, with a feathered head and rudimentary wings.I love their 'alert' look, it appears that they are always on a look out...and its to be true as they have good eyesight and hearing, which allows them to detect nearby threats.
This Emu looks sharp against a darker background which has been painted loosely.I have kept him loose and fresh, only the whiskers were painted in crisp strokes.
The painting is on best quality Daler Rowney cold pressed paper which has a bright, cream-white tone.I will ship it flat, packed suitably.
