This is the view from my studio that I had at Watchet until last year. I was intrigued by the higgledy-piggledy old buildings of Watchet across the water of the marina. I liked the challenge of capturing the colours at their most vivid and this painting evolved over several days painting (as ever) from life. I had to pick my times as the Marina is tidal and the sun only directly lights my favourite buildings early in the morning. The blue strips framing the view are the sides of shipping containers.
