This series of small prints were recently produced over the last couple of days whilst on my residency at Contains Art in the seaside town of Watchet, Somerset.
The monotype print explores an area of Watchet, looking at the River Severn and the landscape of Wales in the far distance, working with printing inks and colour to form an aesthetic image that plays with form and entropy. The process observes a Zen practice by the application of colour and masking off areas with strips of paper, exploring through accidental incidences and determinist actions.
