Question for the artist?

Artist's description:

This is a November 1995 photograph of a male individual lying on the threshold of the doorway to C.C.A.S. (Centre Communal d'Action Sociale) de Nice Cuisines Centrales in Nice, France. A unofficial translation into English suggests the man is lying in the doorway to the Central Kitchen of the Social Action Community Center of Nice. My notes locate this image at 2 Place Pierre Gautier in Nice. Affixed to the wall in the upper left corner of the photo is a Statement of Work (Declaration de Travaux) poster providing notice of restorations, modifications and renovations for this and two other properties. The statement of work was authorized on 11 October 1995. It is important to note this photograph was not intended to imply the individual lying in the doorway was a displaced person waiting for a meal. Instead, this photograph simply is of an individual, for unknown reason, lying in the doorway of the Central Kitchen.

Materials used:

This photograph was created from a Kodak Tri-X negative scanned with a Nikon Super Coolscan 8000 ED and processed via Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop before being printed as a giclee on archival 100% cotton rag fine art paper.
