Artwork description:

Waiting ... The Lewis Chessmen were discovered in the Western Isles in the 19th century. The circumstances of their recovery are rather mysterious but this is how I imagine them in the last few moments before they saw the light of day again after centuries of darkness.

This is an original lino cut print from an edition of 45. It is printed with black oil-based but water washable ink on to Zerkall paper. It is presented 'loose' (ie unframed and without a mount/mat) but send me a message with your frame size if you would like to discuss the addition of a hand-cut mount/mat.

Materials used:

hand carved lino and oil based ink
