Artwork description:

We all need a bit of that, Vitamin D, and where better to get it than the beach!

An aquatint etching means I have first made the drawing on the copper plate ( see photo) with the help of acid (incises lines into the copper) I then add the aquatint, involving rosin and heat, and then back in the acid bath, to give the beautiful shade variations on the plate.
I then ink up the plate for each and every print, you can only print one print from an inking, and when the print is dry I have added details in watercolour to get the bright blues, and the little crab in orange!
I print my sun lover in a short edition of only 40 prints and will vary the hand colouring (to make it more fun for me ;o) , so you are welcome to ask for the colors you would like?

The piece of printmaking paper measures 58 cm x 26 cm (23" x 10")
and the actual printed area measures 49 x 16 cm (19,5" x 6,5")
I have used a warm white slightly textured paper for this print,
and sign, title and number each print, please note you might not receive the number in the photo.
