Since moving to London almost 8 years ago, I have fallen in love with all things vintage – the style, the elegance, the fluidity of the designs, the music, and of course… old books. But rather than leaving old books unloved in a lonely dusty bookshop, I love to see them have a new life as beautiful artwork. And that is the inspiration behind my vintage book artwork. I think the combination of the modern sleek black flowers and the timeless beauty of the vintage books creates a unique piece. I hope you agree!
My unique stylish monochrome artwork on vintage music sheet paper has a distinctly art deco theme focusing on nature and flowers. I have made ten designs in total and each design is available in a limited edition of 200 with each one being entirely handmade (not printed) by me. Therefore no two are alike and each one is unique. The vintage music sheet work is all from classical music including composers such as Mozart, Beethoven, Haydn and others. From sourcing the old books from around the world (London, Isle of Wight, Bulgaria, Serbia, France, and lots of others), to my original flower drawing to hand cutting the stencil to applying black acrylic paint, all aspects of my vintage book artwork is made with love by me right here in London. Given the handmade nature of these artworks and the individual pages of the pre-loved old books, each work is a one-of a kind piece with slightly different sizes (usually slightly larger than an A4 size paper / slightly smaller than A3 size paper). I mount each artwork on an archival mount (30 cm x 40 cm) to protect the artwork as well as to allow for easier framing.
This is to purchase my Vintage Book Artwork (Hyacinth) Limited Edition Number 5 (out of 200), which will slightly differ from this image as all the vintage book pages are unique and each one comes from a different classical music piece.
