Artist's description:

I spent over a week in Florence last Fall...just drawing and looking. Of course, i love the Botticelli women. He drew the same face over and over. This particular face is from the girl depicted in Birth of Venus. I think my linocut catches her sweet beauty!

I drew this image onto linoleum, cut it out, and printed it onto Italian paper with oil-based ink!
And yes, I got the 'e' backwards, but I kind of like it that way!:)

Materials used:

linoleum, oil-based ink, Italian Fabriano paper

VENUS (2015)
