Artist's description:

Another painting in a series of works where my primary influence is from the old fortification ideas of Maréchal Vauban (1633-1707), the French general and engineer who planned the defences of some 160 strategic towns and coastal sites in France, plus more in other countries.

Here I have created a deliberately confusing interpretation of one of his basic ideas and turned his 'impregnable fortress' design features into a confusing set of walls and passages… but this time using a wide range of colours as from the rainbow.

Materials used:

acrylic paint,

Vauban Confused No.2 (2016)
