People believe this city as city of God Shiva. There are several temples and forts on the bank of the Ganga river in Varanasi. Its beauty attracted many emperors from various parts of India and they built many temples and forts on its bank. This oil painting is portraying beauty of Banaras and divinity of Ganga with calm and peaceful sunrise. Priests do holy rituals for pilgrims on bank of the Ganga, usually under bamboo umbrella on stairs. Tourist and devotees explore beauty of the Ganga and Kashi by boat.
